Are you looking for a state-of-the-art studio where you can record a CD in a quiet environment in the middle of birds, bees and trees? A space where you can enjoy nature and work on your product without being disturbed…?

Then we have good news for you! Recently Raoul Music has opened a professional studio in the Portugese south coast, the Algarve. At just three hours flying from the UK, Germany or the Netherlands, and a half hour drive from the Faro airport is our studio with living house. When building this, we used the newest techniques and insights in music technology so we can guarantee a perfect quality of all recordings.

The recording studio is connected to a spatious and comfortable bungalow, having all luxuries of modern life. It is located in the hills of the nearby village Santa Caterina de Bispo, a quiet sleepy village that is perfect for silence.

The environment offers more authentic villages with restaurants, bars and supermarkets. Within 20 minutes you’re at the Atlantic Ocean. The house has sleeping rooms for a maximum of ten persons.

If catering is needed Raoul Music can also take care of that. Also, the post production of your project can be taken care of. In the Netherlands, Raoul Music has two studios where you can finish your work. The environments are mirrored: so if you know your way around in the Portugese mixing room, you will have the same experience in the Netherlands.

In the studio we use ProTools HD, a Sony DMX-R100 digital mixer, TOP Aurora convertors and very beautiful Millenia preamps. Besides this we use the highest quality cables, patchbays and devices. Outside the studio are enough possibilities to relax and enjoy the environment. Because of the location in the middle of nature, with a fast connection to all of the services the outside world has to offer, one gets easily inspired and creative. And when you are done working, the house offers enough luxuries to not miss your home under the grey, northern skies.

It all started out as a home studio in 1994. Estudiozinho (Small Studio) as it was called back then, has now
evolved into a professional working facility in the areas of recording and composing.

In 1990, after gaining 4 years of invaluable experience in sales, demonstrating, and recording in the in-house
recording facility of a local music shop, I decided to venture into the recording industry. Slowly, I began building
my personal studio and as it grew, so did my own clientele. This is where it all began. I loved recording,
producing and programming for other artists, and having my work exposed to the general audience, was very
encouraging.

Through word of mouth, the studio has become known amongst local artists and over the years, has
progressively become very much in demand for all sorts of projects for example CD albums, Playbacks,
Musicals, Publicity, Production, etc.

My father “António Talhadas” (a well known multi-instrumentalist in South Africa) who I cannot pass without
mentioning, has always been a driving force and fountain of inspiration. Throughout his life, he himself was
involved in production, composing, arranging and also participated in various albums for renown artists in
South Africa.

So what is Vitor Talhadas Music Productions all about?

This a place where you can make your dream track or dream album come true. A place where you will an array
of services that I provide, listen to demos of my original music, studio demos and live music samples of me
performing as a musician in the Algarve.

The studio is based around a Sony

Producer Edition linked up via Firewire
with M-Audio’s ProFire 610 audio
interface.

For audio capture, AKG C2000B/C1000
condenser microphones and a Shure
SM58 dynamic microphone are used.

Mastering is done on Sonar using the
various plug-ins and occasionally
re-mastered on a Tascam DA20 DAT
Recorder via digital I/O’s.

Mastering can be registered on normal
cassette tapes, Mini Discs, DAT tapes,
CD’s or DVD’s and also as wave, mp3
or popular web formats.
