Silves is the perfect setting for this festival. All the narrow, cobbled streets leading up to the castle become a medieval market place; trestle tables and hay bales are laid out next to the barbecues and spit roasts in the “dining” area and strolling musicians and jugglers entertain!

Whether you’re an adventurer, a wonderer or a weekend rider and your baby is a Harley, a Vespa or something in between, this year’s Moto Rally in Faro, Algarve was the destination of 40,000 bikers just like you. A mammoth presence doubling this small towns population from 50,000 to 90,000 overnight. The annual gathering in Faro’s, Valley of Souls (Vale de Almas) lasted four days, serving up parties, concerts and a lot of beer.

Beer festival in Silves, Algarve
The Silves Beer festival is held each July (around the 2nd week). It used to be held in Silves Castle, but has now moved to the Fábrica do Inglés. It is held over a number of days, and apart from the obvious beer, there are other drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic on offer as well as food from the many food stalls. There are also bands and singers laid on to complete the entertainment package.
